IB Physics tutoring, taught by an examiner
Private, one-to-one IB Physics tuition with Evan Kotronis — an active IB Physics examiner with twenty years' teaching experience, seventeen of them preparing students for the IB. Lessons are live, individually prepared, and scheduled around your child's time zone. I take a deliberately small number of students, so each one has my full attention.

The examiner's difference
Most tutors teach the syllabus. An examiner teaches the mark scheme. As an active IB Physics examiner, and after seventeen years preparing students for the IB, I know precisely where able students lose marks — and it is rarely on understanding. It is on how an answer is set out: the working the mark scheme needs to see, the command term answered at the wrong depth, the units and significant figures that quietly cost a grade. I teach students to close that gap. In most years, it is the difference between a 6 and a 7.
What we cover
I teach IB Physics at both Diploma (DP) and Middle Years (MYP) level, Standard and Higher, on the current syllabus — the five themes, Paper 1A and 1B, Paper 2, and the Scientific Investigation. Alongside IB, I prepare students for IGCSE and International A-Level Physics. Whether your child needs to consolidate a whole course, target specific papers, or strengthen their internal assessment, the work is built around exactly where they stand.
How lessons work
Live, one to one
Over Microsoft Teams or Google Meet. Never group, never pre-recorded. Each session prepared individually.
Your time zone
Scheduled around your child, not me. I currently teach families from Dubai to Sydney.
Booked in blocks
Lessons prepaid in blocks of hours. New families usually begin with a small starter block.
What your child gains
Not tricks, but structure. Students learn to read a question the way the person marking it will; to lay out reasoning so that every available mark has somewhere to land; and to recognise the difference between an answer that is right and an answer that scores. For those sitting the internal assessment, I bring an examiner's eye to the criteria most students misjudge. The aim throughout is simple: to convert real ability into the marks it deserves.
How we begin
Every student begins with a free consultation — no charge, no obligation. Places for each cohort are limited.
